Sofia Ericson

 
 
 

Sofia Ericson from Eskilstuna, Sweden moved to Denmark to study her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus with Lena Kildahl Larsen, Thomas Jensen and as well piccolo with Judith Wehrle. She finished the degree in june 2023. Previously she has studied with Anders Ljungar-Chapelon and Jennie Nordstrand at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University in Sweden where she completed her bachelor’s degree in 2020. She will continue studying in Aarhus on the Advanced postgraduate Diploma starting in august 2023. During her studies she has had a special interest in contemporary music and has played a lot of contemporary works for solo flute and different ensembles. 

Previously she has played with orchestras such as Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and Nordic Chamber Orchestra in Sundsvall, Sweden, as well as taken part in school projects with Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, Aarhus Sinfonietta, Esbjerg Ensemble and Ensemble Midtvest. She was a finalist in The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus soloist competition 2023 playing the Nielsen Flute Concerto. She has participated in masterclasses with Jacques Zoon, Göran Marcusson, Sarah Louvion and Alberto Navarra.
