Alessandro Di Giulio, percussionist, has enjoyed a varied and successful career as a percussionist in Italy and abroad. He received a Diploma in Percussion (with the highest marks) from the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Licinio Refice di Frosinone. He later obtained a Master in Music Performance in Percussion, and in addition a second Master of Music in Chamber Music, both from the Conservatorio Statale di Musica di Frosinone. Di Giulio also attended Rotterdam Conservatory “Codarts” in Holland. His studies in percussion were further solidified with a performance course in timpani at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy, and in 2021 he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Music Practices at the Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia” in Rome. 

A natural and gifted educator, Alessandro Di Giulio has served as Professor of Percussion at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina di Cagliari, the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Stanislao Giacomantonio di Cosenza and the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Umberto Giordano di Foggia in Italy. Abroad, he has given masterclasses at the Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador.

Di Giulio was a founder and member of the Blow Up Percussion Ensemble, a percussion quartet which began in 2011. The quartet has given premiere performances of Italian and European composers and specialises in contemporary compositions. With Blow Up Percussion, he has recorded on the EMA Vinci Records label.

As a long-standing member of the Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta, under the direction of well-known composer and musician Ennio Morricone, Di Giulio performed in several orchestral tours in Italy, Poland, France, Spain and in Portugal. Alessandro Di Giulio has also worked with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema. He continues to play an active role in organizations such as the PMCE Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble and the Ars Ludi Ensemble. With the Orchestra Roma Sinfonietta, Di Giulio has recorded extensively for Sony Music. Additionally, his performances with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia are found on the Warner Music label. He has also recorded with the Mavra Ensemble, Ars Ludi Lab and Ensemble for Stradivarius, Edizioni Dello Scompiglio and Brilliant Classics labels.

Alessandro Di Giulio has considerable experience as a diverse performer in varied contexts. In Italy, he has given recitals and concerts among which are: Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte of Montepulciano, Contemporary Festival in the Park of Rome, Emu-fest di Roma, Festival of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Summer Festival presso la Deutsche Akademie in Rome, Summer Concert Series at the American Academy in Rome, Roma Europa Festival, Opera Barga Festival, Aperto Festival of Reggio Emilia, ComposIT of Rieti, NoGo Festival, Festival l’Arsenale of Treviso, Ravenna Festival, Interzone of Cagliari, Viola Fest in Siena, Festival Spaziomusica in Cagliari. Abroad, Alessandro Di Giulio has performed in the chamber music series of De Doelen in Rotterdam, at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Cuenca, Ecuador, as a Faculty Artist in concert at Central Michigan University and as a Guest Artist in recital at Iowa State University in the USA.
